KOHLRABENSCHWARZ ("coal-black") is the new Black Metal project of former Lunar Aurora member Constantin König, featuring Dirk Rehfuß (Ex-Grabnebelfürsten, Allvaters Zorn, Voyager3) on vocals.

„Kohlrabenschwarz“ deals with the areas of mind, consciousness and those subconsciously lurking that crush you down. Every human being has those areas and some have to deal with their overwhelming force. There is nothing „romantically dark“ about it, it´s just pain, devastation, fear, and anxiety at a high level of loss of control about what the mind is fucking about. This album was written in dark periods and tries to illustrate them, give them face and form to be able to get a grip on them, deal with them, and maybe get rid of them. Thus, „Kohlrabenschwarz“ wants to encourage the awareness of mental health issues within a seemingly „strong“ environment as metal music.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Extraordinary work by Antrisch, can't stop listening to it although Black Metal usually struggles to convince me. Same like for Antrisch's EXPEDITION I: Dissonanzgrat applies: This album is strong from its first sounds of creaking wooden hull to its last sounds of wind and waves, deciding for a favourite track would not do justice for the geniality of the remaining five, the one coming closest to a favourite one could be I FESTGEFROREN - Packeisfalle in my opinion. onkelchristoph

While Ofte jeg drømmer mig død will most likely always be my favourite Afsky album (being one ov my favourite albums in general), Om hundrede år ticks all the boxes I hoped it would: the calm and simultaneously depressing folk elements are there; the wailing screams of a forlorn spirit, forced to eternally wander the woods (apt comparison, deadpunk!); the harsh, bitterly cold guitar riffs and the ultimate realisation of life, death and our inevitable undoing. Exactly what I want. Recommended! David Fischer
